The sandy beaches of Lopar: which one is for you?

Most of the Croatian coast is pebble and rock. Lopar is the exception: the peninsula around Vila Sabbia hides more than twenty sandy beaches, from a resort classic to coves you will likely have to yourself.

Rajska plaža — Paradise Beach

The famous one. Around 1.5 km of fine sand and knee-deep, bath-warm water stretching far out — which is exactly why families with small children love it. In season you will find beach bars, water sports and lifeguards. It is a short walk from the villa.

Livačina and Crnika

Just around the headland from Paradise Beach, a little quieter, still sandy and shallow. Good for a change of scenery without committing to a hike.

Sahara, Ciganka and Stolac

The wilder side of the peninsula. These coves are reached by marked footpaths through low pine and sandstone country — allow 30–60 minutes of easy walking, and bring water and shade. Sahara and Ciganka are traditionally naturist-friendly; Stolac rewards you with shallow turquoise water and hardly any crowd even in August.

Our advice

  • With toddlers: Paradise Beach, mornings — the sand is at its emptiest before 10.
  • For a quiet day: pack light and walk to Stolac.
  • For sunsets: the western coves catch the last light — take the trail toward Dubac.

Ask us at the villa for the trail map — and check our rooms and availability if you are still planning your stay.
